The estate's vineyards, situated on ancient agricultural soils, benefit from a mild growing climate influenced by the nearby Atlantic Ocean. Altitude ranges from 140m to 310m above sea level, with vineyard slopes facing north to northwest and south to southeast.
Vergelegen's vineyard holdings encompass classic international grape varieties, including Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Shiraz.
